"Golden boot" muppet.

Spotted this clanger today near a lawn I was treating and it really made me laugh. (it wasn't me!)

The guy was obviously spraying Glyposate or some other weed killer and walked back to his van without noticing it was all over his boots, killing the grass where he stepped.

So be careful when hard-surface killing folks, as this will stick around and remind you of your mistake for ages!

  • some of the lads i used to work with were forever doing that.. so much so it became a unwanted calling card pretty much.. They didn't last though to be fair

  • Hate to say it but I have done this I was mortified when I turned up two weeks later and saw my size 9 footprints across the lawn. Customer actually found it funny. I haven't done it since :)

    School boy error Kris

  • We had a customer walk across the lawn after we sprayed iron onto their new decking even after they were told we got blamed but when the foot prints stopped at the door the penny dropped!

    Good spot Kris:)

I've seen this a few times.

It's worth pointing out that this can happen if someone walks on a gravel surface that has been treated for weeds, who then walks on a lawn. It might not necessarily be the person who applied the chemical.

  • slip on disposable boot covers

  • I tend to spray walking backwards so I don't walk on the chemical, you live and learn!
  • Use a blue dye in with the chemical. Not only does it help you not to miss bits, but also members of the public or customers will be more likely to remember that you have sprayed it and not to walk on it!!

    Find it here!!!

I have done the above myself recently. Started off blaming the dog for the mysterious yellow patch of lawn outside the patio doors. Then today I noticed a selection of yellow footprints further down the garden. Doh!! I'm just glad it was at home and not elsewhere. I hope.

  • I think it happens to everyone at some point! For me It was customers children coming home, ran straight accross gravel drive that had just been sprayed, before I could shout or say a thing! Straight to trampoline, and anice yellow path to boot. customer saw the funny side of it at least.
