I grew up in Whitehill; it was once detached from the miltiary town of Bordon but infill and land grab as well as expansion into the heathland has seen the place explode.
Bordon is also set to become one of the new Eco Towns and be squeezed even more.
Unless I win the lottery I am never going to afford to live in some of the lovely large houses with their large gardens but it does not mean I don't want them to exist. Around here due to the policy of building on "windfall sites" its just about wall to wall brickwork everywhere you look, no relief, another house shoehorned into the slightest gap. Just glad the new government is ceasing this practice.
