Fiskars (Wilkinson Sword) long reach pole pruners.

Does any one use the above mentioned?  I have owned a set for 3 years and although the perception could be they are not a professional tool, in my experience they really do the job. Much easier and quicker to get through branches. The articulated head is a handy feature. Extends up to 3.4m and it can take all the pulling/cutting  pressure that I can exert without causing damage to the tool. Cuts branches up to 32mm without too much trouble although it does depend upon what is being cut.

  • I have one too.  Only got it this summer so haven't used it that much yet but so far I think it's great and so lightweight too.

  • I've had the long one and the shorter one..the short one had head that would rotate but the longer one had a head that clicked to a couple of positions on a smaller arm...

Both have died...both lasted about a year, they were handy but not man enough for the job really, the longer one (a later design) was weaker and more flawed than the head one the shorter one..although the shorter one I've now only seen with this clickable arm too..I haven't replaced them, I have bought a pro tree lopper and pole saw and although more cumbersum are more versatile and deffo stronger.

They were ok but not cheap for what they are IMHO, handy for roses and nibbling the odd hard to reach bit but I wouldn't invest again, I do wish someone would make a pro stringless lopper though along the same lines.

    Cheers

I used to have a 4M wilkinson sword one (same company) and i loved it. It lasted 5 years and only broke when i tried to cut something too thick and the shaft bent. It broke altogether a few weeks later. I replaced it with a wolf and dont like it - wish i had bought a fiskars.
