Avoid it! An Etesia 53 or a Honda 536 or a Hayter 56 are excellent machines but not for this size of property. They measure there usage by 2 tennis court sizes.....
I have a client with a half-acre lawn, pretty rough, that takes a good two hours with my 21" Honda when it's dry. They need a ride-on really, half the time is spent emptying the bag at the end of every pass.
Two acres is too big for a pedestrian mower IMO.
What quality of cut is required? Collection of grass or mulch? 2 acres collecting with a pro53 might take you a whole day, nightmare! You need a bigger machine for that kind of area unless mulching, which even then won't be much fun with a 21" walk behind.
I agree, an hour walking behind is as much as my brain can take.
I'd be looking at a 42" ride-on at least for this with a large 500l bag
I certainly make money on the couple of large lawns I do; it's very easy work and two hours mowing one lawn is more profitable than travelling between four smaller half-hour lawns.
It is as boring as hell, though. I always try to tie it in with a decent length drama on radio 4 extra and switch off a bit!
That's about a half-acre site. Two acres would need an audio book of War and Peace to pass the time....
I remember a member on here a while back swearing blind he does a regular 1 acre cut in 1 hour with his honda pro. I gave up as he simply wouldn't listen!
