Hi, we use them.
Are you talking about the bottom of the collector box? There should be a plastic panel that can be clipped in place to collect or flipped up to allow the grass to drop thru (ie let fly).
It a preformed ABS plastic panel - is that what is fitted to yours ? Has it been fully pushed down within the grass collector frame ?
Thanks for the replies Gary & Ryan.
I have attached photos. hope this helps more

Looking at the pictures you have posted, my first comment is the bottom plate is not in correctly as it should be inserted from the top and not he bottom as shown. this will then close the gap up.
The plastic bottom has to sit on top of the metal bars with the clips underneath
if this does not help. then there are no adjustments on the grass box, has it been bent out of shape
Hi Les,
You are correct, the plastic had been screwed on the bottom with 5 self tapping screws into the metal bars. I took the screws out, turned the plastic over, it fitted without screws and ..................it closed the gap!
As i'm more confident to ask :-) I have 2 further problems..
1 The box lifts up on its own so when i'm cutting the grass falls out, when i turn round, you know what I see.
2 The key for the rear drive shaft falls out, the mower stops moving and the wheel nearly falls off!!
If I need parts, where is the best place to order them?
I brought it from my brother-in-law (he's had it for about 3 years), the problem is he took it to his mate for servicing & I dont think he was familiar with the mower.
By the way, the key falls out from the inside of the wheel.
Many thanks again, much appreciated.
Les
Hi Lesley
The box is emptied by lifting the lever on the right, this works on an over centre principle, where by when the lever passes 12.00 it either locks or unlocks the box. If the rod is not adjusted properlly then it is possible the lever is not going fully down to say 7.00 and locking. There are no springs or anything else in the system.
The key is held in place by two U shaped securing rings part number 28527 if they are missing then the key will keep falling out.
From the telephone number you are in the Ashford area, so you could use either Surrey Power at Esher, Godfreys Sevenoaks or Southeast GC, Skelmerston, depending on your preference
Hope this helps
