I would have thought your best best would be to contact EGO themselves...... https://egopowerplus.co.uk/contact I'm sure they'll be able to advise you of where to purchase parts. Perhaps this is a good reason to buy Stihl equipment where any part can be purchased very quickly online at a fairly reasonable price. If its just a disintegrated bearing, you might be able to purchase a non-EGO one from somewhere like "simply bearings" if you can measure it up or get the bearing code off it........ don't know the bearing you're refering too so this may well not be possible...... its also a lot cheaper if you can do this. .
Would it not be worth seeing if Ego will replace it under warranty? Might be worth a shot
I have a couple of local shops that deal with Ego and I recently needed to replace the tiniest little clip from my mower and they had it instore for me the next day so I'd imagine parts are quite easy to get hold of.
I have the EGO multitool, which I bought mainly for the hedge cutter which I find excellent and it’s had some hammer over the past two years. I’ve contacted the EGO previously on a couple of occasions and found them to be very helpful.
Thanks for everybody's help and suggestions. I phoned my local dealer this morning and they've ordered me a part which hopefully will be delivered tomorrow afternoon, I was struggling to find one on the internet, fingers crossed it's the right one.
Sounds like a lack of grease on the bearings, glad you've got it sorted
