I believe it to be a highly creative industry yes!
I agree with Matt. I think this is shown in how passionate landscapers and garden designers are about what they do. You don't see the same level of passion and engagement from other trades as you see in landscaping and garden design. I believe the reason for this is that the industry is a very creative one.
At first I would say of course it is, but I do sometimes wander if the industry is as creative as it likes to think,
It seems that we produce a great deal of homogenization, many designers proclaim to turn their customers ideas into reality and shy away from telling the customers what would or would not work. But "he who pays the piper calls the tune" as they say.I often despair when I look at shows like Chelsea where it seems we congratulate ourselves for just reproducing the same old same old. But that is me... sorry for the rant.
