I suppose it depends how much more work you need/want to pull in.
Might be worth a try
I was thinking of doing something like before, however after talking to a lot of my clients about it, the response I got was they were happy to refer me without the need for me monetize it.
The best thing to do is to talk directly to your clients and ask them if they would/could recommend you to people.
For a referral we offer £15 discounts off upcoming treatments for both the refer-er and refer-ee. Some others give wine or chocolates. I think £100 is very generous! Max I've heard of from lawn care is £40.
Don't like it Chris. To most customers £100 is small change anyway. Also, a cynic will say "I suppose he'll get it back on my bill in the end!"
No, if your customers are happy with you, they will recommend you anyway. Nothing beats a friendly chat, casually dropping in the "...we are looking to add a few more clients to move forward etc...."
Don't do it. Giving bungs for work makes you look dodgy.
