Hi, I've been looking through the forums for a bit and found that everyone is very helpful on the site so thought i'd add a few of my own questions.
Basically I've been doing a small garden maintenance round for the last couple of years and i'm coming to the end of my horticulture degree course and need to start about getting more organised while ive got the time before uni and spring comes around again. I've not got loads of clients as I can't keep on top of them all with uni work as well, so never really bothered with advertising, just take on people through word of mouth and recommendations from existing clients
So question 1: what have people found the most effective way of advertising for new work. Leaflets in door and shop windows, shall I buy some magnetic signs for the side of the van?
and I started getting some more tools last year, gone past just the handy man style of a pair of loppers and shears to a multi strimmer, hedger pole pruner, and a petrol blower, and better quality hand tools. Since I've got them I think how did I ever cope with out them! Question 2: Any thing that's a must have piece of kit that I cant live without ?
thanks in advance Andy
