Advice for cooling off periods for doorstep traders

There is new legislation about how traders conduct their business at the front door.

Cold calling is a big problem for the industry and it has not helped legitimate business. Landscapers and gardeners have taken years to be accepted as professionals and this legislation is not designed to penalise already fair playing companies or individuals.

There is a plus side to the cooling off period for traders though. We have been discussing landscaping contracts and how paperwork and prices should be backed up with paperwork - Landscapers - be prepared to walk away.

If you have that seven day cooling off period and the price is signed and agreed, the client cannot renege on their side of the partnership.
