Contract price

Hi guys.

By way of comparison, what would your price be for this size of contract.  The large areas will be cut  initially with their own ride-on and we will cut/strim the smaller areas with our own power/pedestrian mowers and strimmers.  There are no hidden areas - it is as seen on the aerial shot.

Total grass area is 3.5 - 4 ha.  As you can see mostly open which will be cut with their JD tractor, with small areas around house to be strimmed and mowed.

I have a figure but will tell afterwards so as not to sway.  I know, I know.  Site visits and all, I find these threads most interesting and insightful though!

Cheers,  Neil

  • 2 full days ?   2 men ?    £400 a month  if monthly ?          ? inc fuel / travel ?     maybe £500    vat ??   >
  • Nice looking job neil, couldnt realy give a price without looking at it and getting a feel for the place. What is important though is the visit schedule. Weekly, fortnighty, monthly and seasonal variations etc.  Once the schedule is agreed on then you know where you stand, come rain, wind, or -15 frosts.

Are you competing against other gardeners or do they just want you because they like you ?

    cheers, mike.

  • I've been referred onto them by another quite reputable contractor up here that mainly specialises in public and large commercial contracts so not aware of other gardeners.  Quite keen on this one - beautiful lawns in scenic landscape - have therefore offered what I feel is a fair price.

We shall see what they say...

  • so many variables in this how big is there jd mower is it a collector mower on mulch that will change things as to how long it take

4 ha is 10 acres so it is a big area to cut

if it is a tractor and something like a 10ft or 15ft  cut votex mower not long

  • Morning all,

If I were tendering for 40000M2 I would put it around £1400.00 per year for cut and disperse.
