Leicester City Council’s Transport Strategy Team would like to invite contractors to tender for the construction of the Jubilee Square Project via Pre-Qualification Questionnaire, Invitation to Tender and Tender evaluation process. Jubilee Square project will include the following works: • Construction of an attractive new square and gateway into the city centre. • Construction of hard and soft landscaping; • Paved events area and linking carriageway from St. Nicholas Circle to High Street & Highcross Street, using porphyry natural stone blocks laid on specialist mortar bed above proposed concrete slab, • Resin bound gravel footways on bituminous construction above granular sub-base surrounded by two rows of silver grey granite setts, • Turfed lawns, • Trees and landscape area including plants, • Approximate area of porphyry natural stone blocks on rigid construction is 3200sqm. • Approximate area of resin bound gravel above bituminous footway is 1000sqm. • Approximate landscape planting area is 500sqm. • Approximate lawn area is 750sqm. • Street furniture including seats, tables, bins and cycle frames, • Retaining walls, • Raised concrete seating edge and concrete seating edge, • Dark grey granite corduroy paving to top and bottom of steps, • Silver grey granite edge to steps, • Silver grey granite wall edge, • Public lighting, • LED screen lighting • Decorative screening panels, • Archway to match decorative screening panels • Surface water drainage, connecting into adjacent existing surface water sewer network, • Provision of recessed covers and frames and level adjustment for existing utilities inspection chambers, • Protection to existing utilities apparatus, • Lining and signing, • Metal fence with gate to Wygston’s House.
