I prefer not to use them because they do not have a long enough "spur" below ground for me to trust them. Also ultimatly they will rust and snap off
I also never use a 75mm post I always use 100mm posts which have nearly double the surface area and are much stronger and last longer because of it.
How will a concrete spur rust and snap?
You're right I was thinking metal spur.
We just use the repair spurs when we can which does not take too long....
I like using the concrete spurs / godfathers for new build fences.
(I was advised to bolt the post to the spur before concreting in to make the exact spacing easier but haven't found that easy when solo).
I don't think my original question was clear. I was contemplating the idea of using galvanised fence post spikes, concreted in the ground.
I appreciate that they brackets might stretch and the fence won't be as strong as if it were post directly on concrete and that the spikes/ brackets could rust.
What I am trying to devise is a design that allows the posts to be replaced easily. Maybe box section and angle iron?
Hi Max, well we sell dozens of the 75mm and 100mm concrete in ground anchors so someone is using them. In reality they have a place in the market and are a tried and tested system of either repairing or erecting new fencing. Not for everyone and certainly not for use everywhere, but you make a sensible observation. I have not known them to rust and fail they are well made these days and vry robust.

Thanks for the reply, I just had a look at your site - it's superb! I haven't compare prices with other suppliers so can't comment in that regard but the choice is extensive and the site easy to navigate. I'll certainly recommend your site to future clients who are uncertain of what style they want.
