these are random granite setts laid to take 30 ton plus trafic
Cobbletech is a great product. You cant compare it to natural granite setts though as its a completely different product. I've watched the cobbletech installation videos and its very easy to install which is one of the reasons why its such a good product.
Interesting point about the effect that it will have on Marshalls other block paving products. I'm sure that it will have an impact on the sales of Marshalls other driveway products but on the other hand it could also open up a new market for marshalls as Cobbletech is an alternative to reclaimed Setts

Yes, the key here is for the sales of Cobbletech to rise more quickly than the relative reductions elsewhere as buyers switch from Marshalls' other core products.
Brian Harrison said: as i said am not having a pop just given the custermer the option of real setts which am sure you cant say are inferior and i can drive a 30 to digger on them
there is no doubt on the sales of cobbletech being the best to date of a new product launched by Marshalls but I don't think it is the best driveway product ever as the best is yet to come with cobbletech paving the way for the future design of driveway paving to be manufactured a similar way and using a rigid jointing product
comparing cobbletech and traditional cobble setts is like comparing chalk and cheese, they are miles apart with the installation procedure but the end result still serve the same purpose, you can lay a lot more cobbletech in a day than you could lay setts bedded in a 4:1 screed which makes it a lot more cost effective to install especially when you don't have to sort out different sizes of setts in the first place - just carry from pallet and lay the 5 sizes in a random bond
Cobbletech driveway using a mixture of Iron Grey and Canvas
we had the debate of weight loading on a cobbletech driveway on pavingexpert months ago and to be honest I have yet to see on my travels around the north west of England a 30 ton excavator parked on a domestic driveway :-)
have a couple of pictures of large eight wheeler driving over paving we installed looking for digger
can you blow these up phil please cheers cookie
I think the product itself is fantastic, easy to lay and looks great. However with all innovative/emerging products the cost is prohibitive for many clients at the moment.I don't think Marshall's will be concerned about losing business to itself, they are constantly promoting up-selling of their products through the register, especially when there is no competitor currently able to offer a similar product due to the patent(higher profit margin).Time will tell whether or not competitors will get around the patent, they usually do!
