Cant you just tighten it up to compensate for the stretching?
Hi chris ,
just to clarify its now stretched beyond the machines adjustment yet isnt worn out.
You could always remove one or two links in the chain?
Chainsaws aren't my area of expertise but mountain bikes are so some knowledge of chains! - If a chain is stretched it has probably worn the cogs out at a similar rate - by reducing the length of the chain you are changing the point of contact on the cogs - which can cause slipping or even losing the chain on a bike. I wouldn't like to think what this could do on a chainsaw!!! Speak to someone who knows for sure, it's potentially very dangerous!!!
