Cable ties, don't you just love them !!!!

How many times has a cable tie come to your rescue. How many time has a cable tie started as a temporary solution just to become a permanent fixture?Today a guard dropped of the mower, striped thread. Out with the drill, cable tie and off again.I will retap the thread and fit a larger bolt, or will I ?Just so versatile saves hours and £s in my experience.. A must have in any tool kit.How many of you out there have been saved by a barbed bit of plastic strip?

    Completely agree. They have held undertrays on cars, stopped the dog getting through holes in chainlink fence, held racking against a wall, and stopped the Mrs getting away ;)

    haha, ive done many a repair on the fly using the trusty humble cable tie, had to buy another 100 off ebay last week actually! how many times has a cable broke free from a machine handle and been repaired with a cable tie? for me, dozens! And when you price up the new part required to do the job properly, how often does the heath robinson repair become permanent?

    As a famous road racer once said, if it can't be fixed with duck tape and cable ties, its not worth fixing.
