Buxus leaves

evening  All,

I was wondering if anyone had any tips /tricks for picking up Buxus (box) hedging leaves ,pre or post trimming. I mean in the plant rather than where the clippings fall on the outside . I have quiet a few massiefs to prune each year. The aim obviously is limit the spread of blight, which is rampant here. It can take hours on each one to remove all the leaves from inside the plants. Its also not always possible with 3m wide plus massiefs.  blowing is only so successful and can be quiet awkward.  Up to now I have used my Echo backpack blower with its reverse suction. Its limited in that its heavy to manouvre down low.Has anyone used a industrial vac or the like to any great success???

  • have you tryed a hand held blower that you can use in reverse with a bag on

the box hedging and topery that i have cut in the past has been quite tight and i just blow onto the lawn and pick it up with the mower

    • I tried that David. Its just too awkward on some of the specimens. some are by swimming pools backing onto hedges. The head of the blower can be too wide aswell, to get into the middle of plants . tends to break the box in places, and wont get it all. I m gonna go to the hire centre. try for a vac. cant do any harm I guess .. thanks
