Hi Andrew
Take a look at this PG60 spreader from Progreem
http://www.progreen.co.uk/Application-equipment/Granule-Spreaders/P...
From what I can glean this spreader can carry twice the weight of the Earthway and is £149.00 + VAT
The PG25 is a semi-pro spreader for £80.00 + Vat

Just to be open. Progreen are now a sponsor/partner of LJN (announcement later this week).
Progreen will be working with us to find solutions for LJN members' needs.
Thanks Phil!il take a look!
Hi Andrew
It's a little more expensive than your budget but I use a Scotts SR2000 spreader.
I know a lot of people cringe at the price lol (I did anyway)
I think ended up paying £490 including VAT, pm me and i will send you the supplier where I bought it from.
In the grand scheme of things getting a stainless steel speader is worth it if you plan on everyday use. I bought one at the start of spring this year and it gets well used and there isn't one spec of rust on it. If it breaks you can get parts for it easily enough too.
I have one virtually identical to this (or might even be the same). Love the metal gear box which doesn't clog easily.
Very reliable. Had it for over 4 years.

which one are you on about nick?
I've had a Spyker 64 (previously called an Allen) for many years and its pretty nigh indestructible. Used it for spreading salt/grit in the Winter as well. Stainless steel hopper and can take a bit of abuse and neglect. Used to use them on the council for years and if they can take that treatment, they must be tough. Looks like you can pick one up for £179. http://www.gardenmachinerydirect.co.uk/spyker-spreaders-64-shop-263...
