Bramble clearance

I have client with a wooded area about 3000m2 that is over-run with brambles. Apart from the obvious brush cutter approach, has anyone got any more permenant solutions to clearing this without killing all the closely-planted trees?

If you can lay your hands on a small bobcat with forestry flail you could noble the brambles and roots. any enmergents after that can be sprayed as they shoot up.
  • Good idea - thanks Will

Andy, we had a similar task last year (http://www.landscapejuicenetwork.com/forum/topics/options-for-clear...), but we had to clear a considerably larger area of scrub land for one of our clients 'Family Fun Day' - they bought in a Fair etc for a big celebration over a weekend.

We hired in an Etesia AV95 like ride-on brush cutter (like a go kart) - made life easy and fun.

Alternative is a JD with out front fail deck - but thats a bit larger and more of a handful.

Or we have a walk behind DR Scout brushcutter - that maybe you could utilise ?

PM if you want details - we hired in Pangbourne so not that far away...
