  What do you mean by best?

  Cheapest?
  Best preservative? (but might be time consuming to apply)
  Easiest to apply? (but might not be best for preserving?

  i like spirit/oil/petroleum based products - specifically cromar or barretine
  easy to use, effective and quick to apply.

  really never had any respect for any water based product, especially the rubbish sold by the sheds.

  some Barretine ones you can get from toolstation - they do clear, light & dark brown.

  if you want the other colours i'd suggest emailing them to find your local stockist - can;t recall where i've had the cromar from (might have even been toolstation), but again, an email would solve that one :)

  The fence is very light hasn't been done for ages which colour do you normally use I was thinking the light brown would be easier to blend ?

  yes, i'd go light - the dark is too dark for my taste

  Any other tips you have found or products haven't done fence painting for years whats the best method dint want to get it all over pavement is there better brushes these days is it something cheap and chuck it be good if I could get the brush from tool station to
