My new colleague figured a way of picking up a whole bag (tonne bag ) of grass cuttings and moving them around a site and putting them onto the back of our trailer without dropping.
We use a equestrain large twin wheeled deep wheelbarrow. We tip this on its end standing upright and put two of the tonne bag straps arond the now "sticking in the air" handles of the wheel barrow.
We are then able to fill the whole tonny up, this would never bne able to be pulled around a site, unless you are Geoff Capes!. When filled we can put pressure on the wheelbarrow and the whole tonne bag tips back into the wheelbarrow and we can move it to the trailer.
We then tip the front edge of the wheelbarrow down as close as we can get it, to the edge of the trailer, and as one of us tips it forward the other pulls the two outer straps forward and pulls the bag onto the trailer, without it it slipping down a foot onto the floor. When the barrow is upright un slide the remaining two straps and we have pull it into place. Any remaining bags after this we have the huge effort to drag on top.
Now you may do something similar but before we only filled them 1/3 full or used black bags, this has made a massive difference.
Hope it helps

Why don't you just half fill the bags then dump one into the other in the trailer?
cos hes the lawn-ranger !
80/100l Woven poly sacks )same material as tonne bags) are easy to fill, tie off and carry and have no H&S issues, they rarely weigh more than 20kg and stack easy and can be carried easy, re usable etc. Worth considering/.
would not have worked on the scarifying job last Friday with the steps, gate, and 1ft between shrubs to get it to the trailer just half fill then tip one into the other in the trailer i ended up with 15 full bags off that lawn.(i got rid of the 2m3 bag that a farmer gave me)
Yep, I can see that working. May give it a go with a regular wheel barrow.
Another tip: When loading a 6 or 8yrd skip with rubble/soil etc from a wheelbarrow by yourself, turn the barrow round so the handles are resting on the lower lip of the skip, then lift and tip from the wheel-guard.
Ps I love the cos he's the Lawn Ranger comment !!! Sarcastic or not I love it!

Do you know of anywhere to buy them online?
we use wheelie bins
Found that ton bags rip easy and potentially injure yourself lifting and dragging
Also found these on line, not used them before though Weirbags
