Another view of the IOG Saltex Show 2009

I didn't attend this years IOG Saltex Show so it would be unfair for me to make a comment on the shows success. Instead, LJN members have provided some feedback. Graeme and Robin left a comment on the IOG Event page whilst Steven wrote a full review for the Landscape Juice magazine site. I took note of this paragraph: "Whilst both exhibitor numbers and visitor numbers were down on previous years, the organisers should feel satisfied with the turnout they achieved , said to be 9,000 on days 1 and 2, in what has been a very difficult year with few if any events escaping a downsizing of at least 25%." The Landscape Magazine are saying: "The recent trade shows have acted as confirmation that the economy is improving slowly. "With 455 company stands attracting over 13,500 visitors which far exceeded last year’s attendance and was ahead of the attendance figure achieved in 2007 and 2006, it was clear that open space professionals from throughout the UK continue to regard IOG SALTEX as an essential venue." According to LM, Four Oaks are claiming a five percent increase on last year with visitor numbers 'substantially up'. We have discussed Glee recently and the consensus from the LJM members who attended was not favourable. Have I been misreading the trade shows by thinking that they are in decline? Did anyone attend any of this years events who can give a view?
