Air entrained concrete

Now here is a sexy discussion! I have been asked to pour a base for a table tennis table in my local park. The park management comitee have specified that is must be air entrained concrete. None of my normal suppliers of concrete have heard of such a thing. I don't think it is the same as foam concrete. Does anyone know anything about it and does anyone know a company in the south east that provides it? I need abnout 3m3.

All help gratefully received.

Charlie

  • Just out of interest, why would this be specified for a table tennis table base? What are the benefits of it anyway?

  • Thank you. I am enlightened - as always. Or enjuiced.
  • Many thaks to everyone for thier input. Gary was spot on with the managment comittees reasons for wanting air entrained concrete. Now to find a local supplier.
  • I use air entrined concrete all the time it is available via Tarmac / bardon / cemex etc. Basically it is an adative that will give the mix better strength against frost etc and also reduces chances of cracking..
