I have a client who has a Dori SC 520 Pro scarifier & a Rally 17” CRT 5Hp rotovator cultivator which she is looking to sell some & asked me to do some research with regards to how much to ask for a couple of pieces
She says she’s used the rotovator once & the scarifier maybe half a dozen times. There is a large dried(?) pool of oli under the rotovator which is either down to the angle it has been parked at (tipped down enginewards) or something more serious - either way, it needs attention before starting. Apart from the oil query, superficially they both look in good condition.
I’m very interested in having the scarifier but although I want to get it for a good price, I don’t want to be seen as taking advantage of her.

I'd clean up under the engine, check the oil, run the engine for 10 minutes or so and check whether there's an oil leak still and if there is, where it's coming from .... its unlikey to be anything serious if its only been used once. With such little use, they must be worth half the new price minimum i'd say.
machinery usualy deprecates 25% per year
if its been sat funny the oil could have leeked out through the air intake and will have fouled the sponge filter as Graham says check the oil clean it up and run it for quit a while then check it for leeks again
