if looking at the Expert, look at the Citroen Dispatch as well - exact same vehicle, different badge. I bought one a month ago, found better price for age/mileage on the Dispatch. I love it.
I decided against the Vivaro as they have known common problems, such as fuel injectors.
I plan to get the sides sign written and rear wrapped, probably over winter
How Old? What budget?
Would never buy another Vivaro, they crash too much. Yes, it's one of ours (this week), now only 4 to go......
Do due diligence, buy from a Dealer and get a warranty if you're really worried and I'd take all with a pinch of salt, you only ever hear the bad things on the internet.
You can find issues with everything.
errmmm ...that was a tongue-in-cheek comment - that damage was the result of driver error, but sure someone will say otherwise. It's ok, it's the cynic in me
And......No they certainly are not that bad....
We've bought ex-hire fleet vans that have taken the depreciation and are generally very well looked after.
Forgetting the new 2016 onwards models, we like the 'later' 2.0 CDTI engine (115bhp) ones from the previous range (MKII's ?). Runs nice, indecently quick for it's size. Good to drive, good controls.
I guess more important to find something you like, in budget from a source you can trust. I could probably give chapter and verse about Vivaro's etc in what has been serviced, changed or gone wrong with them from the vans we've had.
However, no one thing going wrong has caused us change. Several vans are +100k. on same clutch with no gearbox problems. Only ever had 1 injector problem as a result of the van being run totally dry and within 1-2 days it was logging a single injector problem. Was changed and never had a problem since.
No rust, so vans keep their image long term. Oldest van, a 2003 model was retired with 160K+ miles a year of so ago just on practicality...
I can't tell you a Vivaro won't have problems, just like I can't say a Transit et al won't as well. I can only go on what we've seen.
Tomorrow, all the vans could blow their injectors or end up with knackered gearboxes. I just don't know.. but I won't loose too much sleep worrying about it.

Her issues weren't as bad as yours by the looks of things lol!!
