Rose

Hello any brilliant flower identifiers...

A client has a rose which died  but which they want to re-plant - they have a photo of it (attached) which is all they haven left - anyone able to help me identify this please - it has an incredible scent apparently.

THANKS

D

  • from the look of this rose, it is an old fashioned Hybrid Tea rose, and there are some very good suppliers of them, - try Fryers roses, or Harkness roses.

but if you want to replace with a modern bush rose which are resistant to more diseases, try Brother Cadfael, which is similar colour .

  • yes    try   david-austin roses   online ..........  best in the country / one of......
  • I am pretty sure that is the floribunda rose 'Queen Elizabeth' - I have encountered this several times in my 'older generation' garden clients, very pretty.

  • Thank you so much guys - really helpful and great advice - I really appreciate you all helping. D,
  • Hi Dani, if replanting, don't forget not advisable to put where the other one was previously in case rose soil sickness. You don't want it to suffer same fate as its predecessor!
  • Thanks Sarah - is the queen elizabeth a climber? this one is apparently... still a bit of a mystery but I've found some similiar climbing varieties...  David Austin does Janet Climbing which is quite similiar as well.

Thanks Jenny too -  the old one was actually dug up and destroyed by builders can you believe! Lots of new topsoil going in so new ones should be fine.

    Thanks all.
