  • well, i know what the law says,so....i would probably :) use plastic 5ltr cans for 2 stroke mix (red can), i always have a 5ltr can of unleaded (green can) for remote mowing jobs,i dont want to carry a 20ltr jerry can a long way.
petrol cans now come in a range of sizes. 5,10,15 and 20 ltr, i have also seen 15 and 20ltr plastic jerry cans but im not sure if they are safety marked.
if carrying any fuel, make sure you have the relevant fire extinguisher and a warning sticker on the van and make sure all cans are secured and fastened.
we also carry a fill and spill kit, which is a portable bunded area for refueling ,with some activated charcoal kit in case of major spills. we also try to use "green" oils which are more biodegradable than normal oils especially when workind around water
