Take a look through the recent posts as Phil is compiling a map of green waste sites.
I would think that this goes for most Local Council recycling yards. You will have to use a commercial green waste station as we have to. I would have thought that the guy you spoke to would have been more helpful and pointed you that way.
Our local Council tip is now closed to all on Thursdays! Even a year later, EVERY Thursday morning there is a queue of cars loaded with all sorts waiting to get in.
What postcode are do you operate in Adrian?
i take waste to a local skip firms yard and it's pretty much £20 everytime whatever size load it is. Have taken some real heavy concrete and soil stuff in that was £20, and some lighter pruning stuff that was too big for my customers green bins also £20. I suggest you try calling around local skip firms to you as they process waste and will no doubt be able to help you out.

East Riding do not operate a trade waste station of any kind. They seem to offer large commercial bin collection for businesses but that's not much good for regular garden waste. It must be a case of hunting around to find a solution. Asking other local operators what they do?
Commercial waste disposal provides a good example of councils operating systems for their own ease rather than putting the needs of their customers - the public and businesses - at the heart of what they do. The tips near me in Merseyside have recently reduced their operating hours from 9 to 5 to 9 to 3 which is very inconvenient when trying to plan jobs that might involve large volumes of waste. You have to start packing up about 1:30 in order to get there and get processed in time.
