I'm watching it too Gary but what I could not help notice was the reference to a waste carriers license yet the BBC got their 'plant' to spray the chemical over the furniture yet the lady wasn't wearing protective closthing, nor a mask and I ssume that because this could be deemed a commercial application, there's no indication that the BBC has had this lady trained to spray chemicals.
  • UV spray appears to be safe to use on skin Phil so I don't think there is a label instruction to use PPE.

The fly tipper was a right lowlife, no concept of decency.
  • I thought they said if the waste is fly tipped and it is found to have originated from you then you can get a fine, rather than being fined for handing it to a non-certified person. Maybe I missed that though.

There was a reference to the fact that anyone employing someone without a licence can get a heavy fine.
  • A hell of a lot of contractors dont have a licence

A lot of waste sites seem to accept traders in unmarked vans/ cars without a thought.
Whereas in York no-one gets in with a trailer or van without scrutiny and either weighed in / council tickets.

    So no surprise increased fly-tipping.
  • As been mentioned here on LJN the cost of a wast carriers license is minimal so it would not preclude a license holder to also be a fly tipper. After all its the action of avoiding the tipping cost that causes the problems.
