Skips

We currently remove all our waste by hiring skips. This is because it has proved impractical to try to separate waste when we have such a variety of materials including the bulk bags aggregates come in, wood, stone, and the majority of our waste is dug out material. We spend a lot of money on skips (£265 per 20 yarder) and I am wondering what you all do? We dont have a big yard to separate our own waste. So are skips the only option for mixed waste?

  • hi sue
i yse a grab and tip service as well as skips i find they take about 3 6yd skips for around £165.00
  • The price may well come down to get our business. One firm we use has a single driver, they let the others 'go'. Sign of the times?
  • Hi Susan,
Like yourself we don't have a big yard and use skips for most of our waste unless it can be recycled i.e. for bottoming, planting and wood that can be chipped and we use the bulk bags from chips etc. to collect and store mulch.
