Stihl Battery Box

G'day All

I'm slowly building up a collection of Stihl cordless tools but havent as yet found a suitable home on the van for the 2 batteries I carry. They tend to be dropped into my holdall with diary, sandwiches, drinks bottle etc which is not really ideal.  As I bring all the gear off the van each evening and load it up again next day, I'm thinking I may as well buy the Stihl carrying case. I just wondered if anyone has one and are there any negatives. I know I could probably knock one up out of wood but truth is, I never will!

The makita or dewalt macpac boxes make very good battery storage and very often much cheaper than the stilh, but the stilh ones have a moulded inset for batteries and a charger.

  • hi they are very heavy in quantity, i have a heavy duty tool box without any inserts which holds 11 of the stihl AP batteries nicely. but in practice they just get chucked in the footwell of the van. doesn't harm them as extremely robust but between about november and march best brought indoors at night or they might get too chilled to work as they have a temperature sensor

The stihl boxes are called L-boxx many many companies use them, I wouldn't pay the premium just because it says Stihl when I'm sure you can get a plain colour one for cheaper.

Yeah I've got the Stihl battery box that holds 2 batteries and the charger, it's great, very simple design and it works, keeps everything safe dry and sound when not on the machines. no negatives to report and I've had mine nearly 2 years mate.

I have been using the stihl soft padded carry case, suits my needs and holds the 2 AP batteries and charger in place and easily taken out the van each night. I saw a recommendation on Instagram and added to a recent order partly to spend enough for free postage

  • Thanks for the feedback, fellas. No negatives at all there. I reckon I'll get one as ithe kit takes up enough room without encroaching on my lunch gear!

  • I'm still looking for one I lost in my van ! It was off my Stihl  hand topiary shears so quite small.  I wish I'd put it with my sandwich coz I never lose my food
