Yew topiary balls supplier

Hello all. Can anyone recommend a good trade supplier of taxus balls, ideally West Country? I have included 5 large yew balls (1m-plus) in a design in South Somerset and the client is looking for an instant result. So I can't buy 40cm plants and give them time to grow; equally the budget won't run to £2500 for five 1m balls at retail price.
I'm also looking for large Pittosporum Golf Balll, Pittosporum Tom Thumb and golden Ilex crenata.
Any thoughts?

Have you tried Hillier's cash and carry at Romsey? The availiabyty stock list online doesn't show any at the moment but they may be helpful? I got some of the 3L golf ball recently though they are not as big as you require

There is also Landford Trees on the salisbury side of the New Forest, he may have a supplier to supply him

though both are not that close to Yeovil

    • Thanks Jonathan - I'll check both of those out.

  • Hedges Direct might be able to supply them.

Kingsdown Nurseries in Wiltshire  do supply them. I have used them when I worked for the National Trust.

I see your based in Yeovil, I used to live and work around there but many years ago so my contacts are old but the nursery I worked for belonged to a co-operative called somerstock which was a lot of mainly wholesale nurseries scattered across Somerset.

    Good afternoon
I too recommend Kingsdown nurseries in blunsdon Swindon

Also try winrow nurseries in Somerset a true hidden gem, huge nursery with amazing large 5 metre bamboo and stunning pittosporum

  • Ashridge nursery? Chew valley trees? They are my go to for shrub/tree. Bit north for you though maybe.

    • And window nursery
