  • My local mower shop used to sell them and reckoned they were alright. Bit heavy and rather expensive new, but always looked a good machine - can't comment on spares/ back up though as they no longer deal with them - actually not seen any new yahamas for a few years.
Its japanese, so should sip fuel and the engineering should be OK
  • i can not remember seeing then around before it looks a heavy duty machine 2 speed drive elec start  looks abit like the john deere jx90 that i got . i looked o ebay and found a few that are on there all in state of repair and little spares on there so i guess thats why no back up for them

  • any pictures ??

  • Hi Roy

Just wondering .......how do you like the JX90.

Got a JX80 myself and like it a lot......especially the big 80 ltr. bag ...so less time emptying.

Bit heavy but Kawi 6.5 sure pulls me along.

Only drawback for me is the few height settings available on hand ratchet so  replaced with a threaded

    adjuster from B&Q.

Noticed that the JX90 offers more adjustment .....do you find it suits you..cheers

  • the john deere jx90 was a replacement  mower for a etesia  i think on the whole it cuts nearly as well as the etesia even in long wet grass  only draw back i had so far is the price of the new blade  31 plus vat  the from john deere looking for a patten one at the moment
  • Sounds a bit pricey but the blades are really beefy compared to others. When you consider that the blade pays for itself in a few hours work and should last a season its not that bad..i would be uneasy using anything cheap and inferior just in case it broke or the edge dulled quick..

Use the JD most of the time myself but take out the pro 46 etesia when ground gets soft and ruts easy.

My only gripe with the JD being the wheel design which has a horrible plastic tread and rounded profile which does nothing to spread the weight and can ruin a job when wet.
