Would a mobile horticulture college be useful?

I attended Merrist Wood horticulture college, near Worplesdon, Guildford, between 1985 and 1987 studying amenity horticulture - the course was day release running from September through to June. I loved attending and I could not wait for Tuesdays (the course did cause havoc with my scheduling as I lost what was effectively 20% of my working week, although I worked late on the remaining four days and worked Saturdays too so financially, I was OK). I met some really nice people from all walks of life. Husband and wife teams who were engaged in maintenance, RHS students from Wisley, gardeners employed by local authorities, self employed and employed gardeners who worked in private or public gardens. Merrist Wood wasn't the easiest place for me to get to with no direct route in. The journey would take between one and a half hours depending on traffic and delays - what made the biggest difference to my time was the school run traffic. During school half term, I could be at college in three-quarters of an hour. Having said that, the journey gave me time to relax and I'm a great lover of watching the world go about its business so it was a sweet diversion from my normal week. I also attended Sparsholt in 1994-5 on a greenkeeping course (lovely drive in a gorgeous part of the world) I'm sure that a lot of businesses and individuals don't consider college because of its cost and time implications but I've been wondering for a while if a mobile classroom would encourage more people to want to learn and achieve at least a foundation module in horticulture? A vehicle equipped to cater for 15-25 people, for example or a horticulture department utilising a local village hall or spare classroom in a school or perhaps on a location such as a plant nursery or garden centre. What are your thoughts?
