We did some garages years ago. Vital you talk to your insurers as they are considered high risk locations and may need increased cover. Highly likely client will/should request commercial H&S accrediation (and likely a requirement by insurers to extend cover). Utlimately, the sites passed to one of the big FM companies (Mitie) under a national single provider FM contract.
I did some work for a guy who does forecourt maintenance, cleaning, grounds maintenance and replacing light bulbs, etc and he does very well out of it.
Bear in mind replacing light bulbs is becoming a thing of the past, you actually need to find out what potential customers are likely to ask you to do.
Thanks for the replies, I was only thinking of cutting grass verges and hedges though. There's a couple of places near us that are looking a bit unkempt and I thought I might put my card in and ask the question. Just wondered if there is anything I need to be aware of first though.
From the Karcher website:
Be on the safe side: Pay attention to regulations
The use of cleaning machines and chemicals at service stations is also partly regulated by law. Professional associations and oil companies also have regulations for equipment and cleaning agents, because workplace, health and environmental protection is especially important in consideration of the hazardous materials and substances that are in use at service stations. It is therefore essential for service station operators to be familiar with the respective regulations.

None of the local garages have enough landscaping or vegetation to make it worth from a purely landscape maintenance point of view, it would need to be a full sweep up at least.
UKPIA course. Mandatory for contractors working on or near a forecourt.
Appreciated, thanks. Maybe this is why some forecourts look a bit untidy, not enough contractors who are trained to work there. Or maybe they figure that people will buy fuel regardless of the state of the grounds!
