Where women of lawn care, whatever their level of knowledge or involvement can network and share ideas and ways to make the industry more appealing and accessible for ladies.

  • Not wishing to be negative am more curious really, but there's something a bit "80's" about this to me. Yes lawn care is traditionally male dominated but do the customers these days care whether a woman / man / trans or non gender identifying person is doing the lawn care? as long as it's to the required standard. On the other hand, there definitely seems to be an under representation of black tree surgeons

      Valid points Billybop. The UKLCA has identified a need to support women wanting to get into a male dominated industry so that's what we're doing. Personally, I've never felt hindered by my gender in any role, but there are many that will benefit from a little support from their peers.

      • That's good Daisy that you never felt hindered. However, with the way the weather/climate is going, there may be limited applicants (of any gender) wishing to get involved in such a seasonal industry, unless they thrive on a bit of chaos, randomness and instability, not averse to gruelling work and likely have some kind of financial safety net in place
