Winter work options

I'm a self employed gardener in Stockport, mainly mowing and tidying small gardens. I'm fortunate enough to be fully booked from Easter time until Christmas (depending on the weather).

I have a few larger gardens which I can still work on a little in the winter but find that because of the snow and (maybe the credit crunch?) I am finishing the smaller gardens a little earler and starting them a little later.

I was just wondering what people do in the winter to earn enough to keep them going? I'm finding that as I've not worked in an office for 7 years (since I started the gardening) I'm finding it harder to get temp work over the winter, especially part time so I can continue with the larger gardens

  • Thanks, I found it - helps to read I'm not the only one struggling. I guess one winter job is to upgrade my PC so I can navigate the forum a bit more quickly!
