Who do you look up to in the business world as a role model, as a business that you appreciate or displays an innovative approach?
I think it easy to forgot all those close to you, that give daily support, inspiration, the chance to bounce ideas or just be able to moan about days issues. I guess they are the hidden ones :-)
I came across a book on my shelf from a few years ago by Richard Branson and have dipped in and out of a few times recently over a cuppa. Really enjoying revisiting some of his story and business practices.
For me, I have up-most respect for the guy, his approach, manner and business acumen.
Business image wise, I appreciate the Ikea brand. I don't necessarily mean all the items they sell, but more the brand, marketing and image. Also happen to love some of their recent adverts (The Garden Gnomes & Making Friends )

Hi Gary, interesting question! I remember reading a story about Richard Branson as a teenager spending all his pocket money on an attempt to grow Christmas trees to sell in his neighbourhood. Before long the rabbits ate all his saplings and his friends assumed that all was lost and he'd wasted his money. So, he went out and bought a gun, shot the rabbits and sold them to local restaurants and homeowners and still managed to turn a profit. I think that ability to not see a failure but an opportunity to try a different approach is an amazing thing.

my reputation or rather fear of getting a bad reputation inspires me to do a good job, wanting to do a good job for the client inspires me and above all else my family and not letting them down inspire me to make the business a success
I get inspired whenever I come into contact with other small businesses providing quality goods and services in my local area. Real people, who are passionate and knowledgeable about their business and provide an excellent value for money service, are a constant source of inspiration.
