I've just noticed the product finalsan 10ltr bottle
Does any one use it
We use Pistol as our total weedkiller which generally works better to prevent weed regrowth than the Round Up types, but then you pay a premium for it. Out of interest, we use Praxys for lawns and Kurtail Evo for mares tail.
Got pistol here use that too....
praxys couldn't handle the smell
hysward-p for the lawns...there was a thread recently on here
they mentioned round up is it as good as the product says
ill give it ago with the pistol....cheers
I may be wrong but personally I don't think the dose they recommend
actully kills grass....as the grass areas I sprayed 3 month ago
as reapeierd
number of issues here...
Grasses - grasses will die and you only need a low dose (1.5L/ha for Roundup ProActive) - BUT, new shoots will come back because glyphosate (Roundup, Gallup, Rosate etc) readily degrades in soil, 50% biodegradeability in 7 days so grass species, especially free seeding varieties like ryegrass will be able to grow within weeks..This bidegradation is what makes glyphosate so versatile - think of it as a plus! A residual or pre-emergent like Pistol/ Proshield or Paradise/ Chikara will sit in the soil and stop these seeds germinating for a while longer
Other plants: yes, glyphosate does translocate and kills plant roots - IF its done at the correct time and correct application...3-4 months before any re-growth is not bad! Its likely its not even the same plant but don't underestimate plant stress (heat, dry soils, dust, frost, soggy ground etc). This will stop most plants growing - in which case it goes into 'hibernation' for a short time - in which case any herbicide won't get to the roots properly...
The old days of one treatment (sodium chlorate) have gone, generally we all need to make any pesticide application count
FInalsan is a pelargonic acid (non glyphosate alternative). It works quicker by contact killing of foliage rather than translocating to roots

Cheers Richard great write up thanks......
