Thanks Gary! But £345 list price? ouch
Anyone use the circular wire brush attachments?
I have just bought one - £300. You have to factor in the discount.
Oh, and it's heavy.
Just over £200 if vat registered 😬
They've proved popular with the teams.
It’s interesting that the cheaper price you have found is at F R Jones. Although they are indeed cheaper on the RG KM than my dealer, the KMA 135R from them is actually more expensive - an extra £30.50 inc. I bought the two items together so in the end I paid just an extra £20 plus vat over F R Jones who are 175 miles away from me.
So the F R Jones price for the KMA 135R and the RG KM together would be £513 plus vat whereas I paid £533 plus vat. But, mine was hand delivered to me at home by the dealer’s manager. Also, F R Jones are saying that the KMA 135r is expected on or after the 13th of August. That’s a long wait.
Although they are not far away from me, the Dealer nearly always drops things off for me at home, including all parts. I usually don’t pay them until after delivery, a day or two later. They still haven’t let me know what I owe them for the parts I had last week. As I had both machines suddenly out of commission, they arranged for the parts [from two different suppliers] to be sent directly to me [one through the post and one couriered due to size] rather than via the usual deliveries to them, in order that I had the parts the next day so that I could fit them and get back to mowing.
Would F R Jones send me parts I hadn't yet paid for?
Would they lend me a strimmer to help me out, at no cost to me? [they did this a few years ago]
Also, what happens if there is a fault with the new machine[s]? I can just ring my local dealer, who will either collect, or I can nip it over to them and they will sort things out quickly. Ordering gear from the other end of the Country from people on the phone who I don’t know and who I have not and will never meet is not for me.
Sometimes it’s much better to pay slightly more but deal with the people you know, have built a relationship with over many years and who are the ones who have always looked after you. And if we don’t support these local businesses, particularly at the present time, they may not be there later when we really need them. A first class local dealer who works hard to go above and beyond for you is a rare and precious thing.
I think you over analysed my post - it purely to show a realistic purchase price to Tim.
I wasn't suggesting you purchase from there nor dissing any price, reasons & decisions to buy locally at your dealer.
I wasn’t having a go Gary, not at all. I just thought that the points I made were worth sharing. We all know the value of a really local good dealer.
Your post merely brought that to my mind, as it were.
👍
The wire brush ones don't last more than a couple of hours before there is nothing left of them and fling shIte everywhere, the KM-RG cuts stuff off flush and leaves it where it's cut without and fling. I love mine and no chance of any broken windows either.
See you've had one nearly a year now................. how's it going? Any problems?
