Evening all,

I've had a day of relentless bugbears today which led me to wonder what is the most annoying thing you hear on a regular basis?

I have a few..

'Rather you than me' (on a cold or wet day)

'Lovely day for it' (on a hot day)

Anything weather related really..

Do you have a rough idea of how much? (5 mins in to the first site visit whilst trying to measure up)

"I just need some ideas" (ARRRGGHHH)

the word Slabbing instead of Paving.

I'm sure I could think of some more..

Existing clients are all good, prospective clients " what's your hourly rate ?"...

"Really, do you think watering the lawn would make a difference?" (after the driest spring on record)

  • "I could do it myself, but i don't have the tools/time" gets me going

What time are you coming is my bug bear!!<br/>
I always start by saying that I don't have set times yet still people ask!
  • When they say "the last guys used to......"

My general response is where are they now?

    Gets on my dander!

Agree with those! Also 'how long will it take' when I'm trying to do fixed pricing and get away from the obsession over hourly. I have never asked a trades person eg window cleaner, plumber etc how long they are going to take!
    • That is a great analogy! Shall remember that one lol.
  • "Could you just..." always when you've started packing up

    • on Fri I'd packed away, knocked door for money. "Could you just do the front lawn"... Was tiny and didn't take long but could've said when I turned up (when quoted she only wanted the back one done) and saved me unloading/packing away twice!
