What Felcos and why

HiAfter using felco 2s on off for about 15yrs i needed a pair that would cut through tougher thicker wood so i bought a pair of 13s. I think there great and fit my needs perfectly, they suit gardeners with larger hands and can prune large branches and dead wood that the 2s wont go near. With all the differant types out there which i dont think i will ever get to use, just wondering what people think of the other models out there.

  • I use no.11s Mainly because my old boss at the garden centre did and I liked to use them, on the odd occasion anyone else was aloud to touch them. Have used no2 as well and they just seemed a bit clumpy! the 11s are a more streamlined version of the twos if that makes any sense.
  • I must be a bit of a heathen!! Always use Felcos but always imagined the different numbers were just a bit of a gimmick and really didn't make much difference......just bought whatever pair was going at a good price avoiding the megacheap economy pairs with the nut in the middle. Being lefthanded, tried the l/h ones as well but didn't spot the advantage.

No7. They have the best cutting capacity and the revolving handle does make a differance for repetitive pruning. i find with a good squeze i can cut stuff up to and just over an inch.

I also have a pair of 2s as I like them for light stuff like dead heading, they are lighter and more 'snippy'
