Hi Peter,
Not getting an email reply is just bizarre!. Business must be booming is all I can say , although I have experienced similar frustrations from a variety of suppliers! Can be maddening when your trying to get organised.

Have noticed this myself recently in many different areas of business .
Messages and calls not returned
Standing at a counter the other week the businesses phone was ringing out loud with Three members of staff just stood ignoring it .
My own enquiry met with " no we don't stock it "
No one wanting to lift a finger
Equally spent a whole frustrating day without success trying to find a business who could cut me a pane of glass to size to fit in the greenhouse but it's still raining in .
Similarly was in a DIY shop the other day , door wide open , no shopkeeper in sight , I shouted out ,checked around to see if he was okay but no sign of life
I left thinking this must be the new way things get done .
Seems we have to be extra resourceful to get things done .
I blame covid. Service industry has gone to shit, poeple have become so lazy and rude.
My local nursery is penwood nursery there service is very good. I spoke with the owner last year, he said there is just no labour here or in Europe to work in plant production.
Guess all the kids all want to be 'influncers' what ever that means.
Yes as Honey says it's definitely a Post Covid hang over. Anyone asking questions about a product is seen as a potential trouble maker. I bought a new tonneau cover for my truck. They used to be a top notch, heavy duty, made in England product. Was sent a thin rubbery alternative for a higher price, from the same supplier, with scuff marks on already just from being packaged. Which would rip very easily. When trying to find out what was going on they eventually admitted they had changed the material due to difficulties in the "supply chain". But made out it was just as good. Needless to say, I am still using my old one with a few minor holes in it
Sloppy practises have often become the norm since COVID. Businesses closing early due to staffing issues or running out of stock. During the pandemic it was understandable but it seems to have carried on and become accepted. Our local filling stations regularly run out of either petrol or diesel, never happenned pre COVID, now it's become the way. Seems the same in a lot of industries.
