What a throw away world we live in

Our colour laser printer has run out of some of its toner cartridges again...

Oh well it gets used a lot, so this time I called a few places and checked online... told £120-125 for a full set....;-(

Mmmhhh... looks around, does a quick search and finds the next model up laser printer available on Amazon for £69 inc vat & shipping (remember this is a Laser, not an inkjet printer..so no smudges when wet pages out on site :-)

Admitedly has lower capacity toner cartridges, but could almost buy two new printers for the price of the toner set.......

What is all that about ?

    I have a laser which I fill the cartridges myself with no problems. Just brought bottles of powder.

    This sort of thing really annoyed me last time I went to replace the toner in my colour laser. A new printer and 3 year warranty was cheaper than buying the toner.

    I now use an inkjet and fill with recycled ink cartridges which cost £2 each colour and take an iPad to site when I need to look at detailed plans.

    Even if my iPad was to get trashed its still cheaper than replacing the toner!!!
