So, I had an invitation to the Landscape Hub. Having a brief look at it all I can see is loads of friendly faces I've not seen here for ages, and no up-front fees.
Whilst I totally appreciate that you need to make a site pay, perhaps the new fee structure here has led to people moving on to another forum, as was my fear at the time? We already pay through the ads, and let's be honest. There are not a lot of "pro" members, I rarely look in the members-only area as most threads aren't started there, and even though I've been religious in trying to "push" sensitive subjects such as costs there, people keep posting in the "general" area anyway.
If half the people I want to be in touch with have moved on, and the paying group is too small to have any specific benefit, I'm probably not going to be renewing. That's a shame, but perhaps LJN needs to look again at the business model and work more around adverts than subscriptions? There has to be a reason why people have left, and why so much discussion is still outside the members-only areas.
