  • Yes.

    I think that covers it.

    • Do you charge the same for weekly lawn mowing as you do for fortnightly lawn mowing, or do you charge more for fortnightly lawn mowing?

      • That’s hard to say really as the one long standing job I have has always been weekly [about 12 years] and it involves ongoing hedge cutting most weeks [starting in June]. I think that generally you could charge a little less for weekly. Of course you are still travelling to site and it won’t take half the time of the same job done fortnightly. Although it will be easier and maybe 20% faster.

I never collect grass clippings as both machines are mulchers. So the weekly job requires only one pass in order to mulch whereas some fortnightly ones take two passes. But even then the second pass is done at a greater speed than the first and so doesn’t add much time when you take into account travel time and the strimming and blowing time which would be about the same.

So much depends on the weather. If it’s a red hot July then it makes no difference at all.

Although having said that, I have a job that I do every ten days until June 21st and then it goes to fortnightly. Doing it every ten days makes it no quicker than fortnightly, even taking the season into consideration. It can grow more vigorously after June than before.

I always charge more for fortnightly as it's harder on the machines and more waste away.

We charge 20% more for 2 weekly as we can often single pass mulch the weekly ones, although some still want pickup/stripes.

Yes...and I charge the same for weekly as fortnightly....and charge for waste removal too

  • PRO

I don't offer the service but will if the client asks but won't reduce my rate as it's still a slot which a fortnightly could fill so if they want a striped lawn more often then they pay for it

  • We have never sold weekly lawn mowing, but are thinking of giving it a try.

The idea is that we will offer the customer a weekly price or a fortnightly price which will be 50% higher than the weekly.

So for the smallest lawns up to 200 sq mtrs will will sell at £33 for a weekly mow and £49.50 for fortnightly.

Is that with the waste removed or not?

We charge £50 an hour and then put waste of on top of that.

Do these prices include edging ?
