Waterproofs - getting them dry

My men and I wear Flexothane waterproofs. I've found they are best value for jacket and trousers that actually keep the water out all day and they last - I'll get at least a year out of mine as long as I don't snag them.Problem we do have though is getting them dry. After a day in the wet the pockets are filled and the cuffs etc are soaking. Stick them in the back of the van and the next day they're still the same. I try to hang mind with a bungee but it's not enough drying in 12 hours. You lads got some techniques? Taking them in house isn't a real option as they smell a little especially when working with grass.

I might be the only one that does this, but I hang them in the back of my van, then get in a give them a good blow with the leaf blower. Gets a fair amount of water of them, at least enough that they are wearable the next day!
  • Isn't the logical thing to do is to give the men another set of waterproofs to wear whilst the first set are drying.... damn the expense!:)

    • Now that has to be a good idea!

We don't expect to have one pair of dry-weather trousers to last a year without washing, so why rely on one wet-weather set?

Personally, I stay inside if it's raining and iron my work t-shirts. :-)

I take the sty inside route if I can it's only a problem if you get 3 or more days in a row then I've got to go or I would never catch up

Same as Paul for me, if it's raining that hard I won't work, I'm past getting soaked all day long, much more enjoyable to chill at home and prep for when the rain stops...;-)
  • two sets - otherwise hang them on a hanger in back of van after giving them a good shake off outside.
