Watering service.

Hi all,

hope everyone is surviving the heat etc! Just wondering if anybody has experience with offering a watering service, I guess mainly targeting people going on holiday for long periods over the Summer, any advice greatly received!

Been doing loads this year. It’s great as I get to go out after  it’s cooled down a bit and do a couple of hours maybe 3 hours a night. Just domestic clients.

Keeps some money coming in and more importantly it keeps the gardens looking good and has actually gained me some new clients for grass cutting when it starts growing again!

Yes absolutely - i would say its a standard service that most gardeners would offer or be expected to do.

As a upsell get certain basic feed products to ensure plant health as and when needed, watering allows you to have a good look at plant health and then add whats needed to protect the plant health or/and ensure good flowering etc

Would say its a very refreshing/enjoyable task amoungst the other far more physically draining ones.

We had an enquiry for doing this about a month ago.  At the time, I was concerned about a potentail hosepipe ban.  Especially as the enquirer had already commented about some of his plants dying last year when he was away and left someone else to do it.  I turned it away, mainly as I was unsure about the implications if stuff did die.

We water for our regulars, but we know them and their gardens so it feels less business like than offering it as a stand alone service.
