I've had to be registered for years, as the tip can't accept waste from me without a license. It's free now for green-only, so seems sensible to have it.
what you mean its free now paul explain for me please as i ve a licence already

i wonder what they class as regally.
Paul if its green waste you do not need one as yet but if you carry say old fencing, rubble, bricks you have dug out of the garden or you take a old bench away etc you need one
The incoming lower-tier license is free. It's green-waste only, but that suits me as it means there's no asking me to take other things away, they get a skip and pay themselves. Saves that conversation where you try to explain why it costs so much to take waste to the tip, when all they see is it's free for them.
It also suits me as the tip I use is green-only, so I would have to go somewhere else if there was different rubbish to remove.
At the moment you technically don't need the lower-tier license until January, but most proper tips require you to have one for their records. All you do is apply for the free one, and tick the "agricultural" box under what type of waste you produce/carry.
