WARNING RANT!!!!!!!!!

What is it with companies these days?

In the last 24 hours I have had nothing but crap from everyone I speak to.

1. Rang Vodafone to transfer a number from a Pay as you go to contract. got loads of rubbish asking why i did it, why I want to transfer number why don't I get a paid phone and put the sim across. To which I replied are you able to transfer number to which they replied yes so i said "JUST BLOODLY DO IT THEN!". They got a bit grumpy then with me then they heard the torrent of abuse because I did not hang up properly.

2. Went to Boots chemists. Needed to buy some raizer blades. They had a offer which was a certain make blades 1/2 price. So i picked up the pack made sure the product matched the offer got to the counter where they went through the till at full price........this then held me up about what the advert said to what the till said. Even when I had the advert in my hand they still disputed the offer!

then went from Boots to Screwfix.

Purchased 4 rolls of insulation tape of each colour. When the picker brought out the tap they said they did not have 1 of the colours in stock and that I needed to rejoin the que of 7 people to get a refund......

Then just now UPS were meant to deliver some products to me that I am waiting for. Just had a txt to say that an update on my delivery has been made.

Check the web site and they changed my address!!! rang and asked whats going on told the parcel has not even left the depo even thought the website says it has and they changed the address to a village where I dont live..........

What the heck is going on?????????

  • After watching a UPS van come down the drive this morning despite the parcel seemly having the wrong address on it they tell me it has not left the depot today and it has never been out for delivery today.

Is it poor customer service or is everyone who has a job just p+++++ off and passing their negative vibes on?

  • Good customer service is generally the exception unfortunatley....but it's still out there ;-) Vodafone are a pain to deal with the organisation is sooo big that it's almost completey disconnected from the real world, I have had dealing with them and it's an excersise in frustration...if you want a contract no problem...if you want to correct an error or query something forget it !

However on an up note our postie is a gem the local pet shop falls over backwards for us and soo does the independant health food shop in town etc etc

  • Same with Natwest business banking!

They say it costs 33p to pay in a cheque

76p to pay in a cheque or cash Using a paying in slip.

EVery time i got to the bank their is a Que and the staff try and get you to use the paying in slip box. When I refuse and say it costs me more (paying in 20 cheques means id be paying £14 in bank charges!) they deny it... I show the the tarrif and they go "oh i didnt know it costs more, funny isnt it? ". Yes funny to pay more for lesser service at the bank.

Fast forward - just checking over my charge statement... paid in 21 odd cheques last month.... got 21 cheque fees - ok thats fine. BUT next line 21- "Manual credits" ring up... to be told that id paid them in with paying in slips.

No I have not... so i raise it they say without a receipt I cant prove otherwise... good job Ive got them... they then go. oooops sorry.

THen I ask why am I charged twice, once for cheques and again as a manual credit - equaling 99p per cheque paid in!!!!!!! They tried arguing that that was the fee... show them the banking tarif ON THE  PRINT OUT THEY JUST GAVE ME.... Its explicit - cheques 33p or 76p if using the paying in slips......

Phew - thanks MW for starting it off!

  • I dont except cheques any more BACS or Cash. 99% pay by bacs now

  • Its hard for me, many customers are not online - Mostly the older ones... they dont do internet banking, and 3 dont even do bank cards.... They tend to alternate between cash and cheque - though I wont accept a cheque for less than £20 now.. raising to £30 next year and maybe consider refusing cheques in future. Such a hassle and the bank charges will only go one way.
